It is not satisfying to believe that eternal life can be earned by anything I’ve done. Nothing I’ve ever done can ever be enough. It is also not satisfying to rest in the fact that there is no eternal life. It leaves questions like “how was I created?”, and “why is this life broken?” unanswered.

For me, there a meaning and purpose in this life. In Matthew 7:21-23 jesus proclaims that we will go before him, and those he recognizes will be welcomed into their rest, and those who don’t will be cast into the outer darkness. So I believe that our meaning is to form relationship with our Lord and Savior in this life so that we can spend eternity with him.

I believe what might be compelling to non-christian is that you are created in God’s image. That God loves you and he needs you to relationship with him by obeying his law.
