    These areas of study help to put the passage into context as it relates to the time period, the culture’s customs and laws, The literary style helps to understand the intent of the author, to tell a true story, reveal prophecy, a letter to an individual or group, or tell a made up story to make a point. Grammatical study helps to understand the original meaning of the text.
