Historical, grammatical, literary and cultural study of a passage helps guide the micro-observation by allowing us to thoroughly observe the text and gain knowledge of the details. We have to check our passages to gain as much information possible.

When we do an exhaustive study by using this method, we get the whole picture as intended to the audience spoken to. anything short of this makes it so we’re in danger of misinterpreting the passage.

This method of study allows the reader or student to see the passage for different views. Know where they lived, or how they lived, or what was the cultural norms helps place the passage in its proper perspective. It was not until I stop seeing the Bible from a twenty first century view point is when I began to understand the author’s intended message which can translates into today’s society.

It gives us a more accurate and full understanding of the scripture.

These studies allow us to look at the passage from all angles and give us a thorough understanding of what is being said. They put us in the mind of the author himself. They also give us a greater understanding of God and His purpose in including the passage(s) in His word.
