The spiritual hazards that would should avoid is disobedience. the Bible consistently reminds us to remain humble. Saul and Solomon allowed power and authority to rule over them instead of God. They sought to be glorified and forgot who gave them the authority to rule.

What we learn from Saul and Solomon is that at times we are more concerned about ourselves our own self preservation and what we want in the here and now rather than resting and believing in God’s promises.

We should avoid making leadership about us but instead about submitting to the Lord and serving his people.

When we stray from God and allow ourselves to be tainted by wrong thinking and wrong practices, the end result can be separation from God.

With Saul, becoming prideful and with Solomon, lust and power becoming idols.
