In briefly considering Saul and Solomon, what spiritual hazards should we avoid?

Not obeying God got both of them into trouble and they suffered. Avoid leaning on our own desire and wisdom. Avoid godless counsel.

The ways of the world can be appealing and easy to fall into the trap…must keep our focus on God and His ways above the ways of the world and fleshly desires.

Stay focused on GOD!! When we try to do it all ourselves we lose. We can only win if our focus is on God.

We should avoid pride in our position. We will still make mistakes and fall into sin, but how we repent matters. We need to approach God like David. We need to humble ourselves and not beg God for saving our position. Rather we need to approach His throne with a grateful heart that we just get to know Him. And that’s all we should ever want.

We should avoid our reliance on self and things around us but rely solely on God and His Word.
