We need to be intentional to have/allow Jesus to sit on the throne of our hearts daily and be sure to never have idol worship. It also important to check our hearts and be sure that our “WHY” always points to Christ and never make it about ourselves.

Learning from the negative examples of Saul and Solomon, we can see how important it is to remain dependent upon God. Saul became so absorbed with himself that pride, fear, and jealousy utterly consumed him. Solomon became consumed with his wealth and women. In doing so, he allowed idolatry to take a stronghold that ultimately destroyed the nation.
