In briefly considering Saul and Solomon, what spiritual hazards should we avoid?

The spiritual hazard we should avoid is that everyone has a propensity toward sin. Saul was chosen by God, but he turned away from the counsel of the Lord. Then when God took the kingdom away from him because of his disobedience, Saul became consumed with jealous anger toward David, the one who would replace Saul.
Solomon started out seeking God’s counsel, but in taking foreign wives, he was turned away from following God fully and became idolatrous.
No matter who we are, or our level of authority, we must seek first God’s counsel and stay loyal to His calling — called to be holy and sanctified for God’s glory alone.

God does not look at our outward appearance so therefore we should not judge others by their appearance or judge our own ability based on our appearance.

Even when you are at your highest high, you are still not above God and His will. We should avoid pride, jealousy and self-centeredness.
