In briefly considering Saul and Solomon, what spiritual hazards should we avoid?

In Saul, we should avoid a jealous heart. One that thinks our position is ours and it was something we attained and should keep. In Solomon, we should avoid an unguarded heart and letting in outside voices and beliefs that go against God.

Both men lost sight of God and focused on their accomplishments claiming that they did it all instead of recognizing God’s hand in the accomplishments and giving God the glory.

Both kings made it about themselves and less about honoring God. this is what leads us down a path of trouble and hardships

In the case of Saul-disobedience and Solomon’s choice of wife caused them to bring in their idols and false gods. God was no longer worshiped. The people were let astray-we should as Christians marry people who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior-equally yoked of course…

Without God in our hearts and everyday lives we will deteriorate. Living lavishly, having many partners out of wedlock, bringing in other false religions will cause Gode to depart from us.
