Pride and selfishness are highlighted in the stories of Saul and Solomon.
-
Saul: self-reliance and pride. He forgot who put him on the throne. Solomon: for all of his wisdom, he became an idiot. At first when he relied on God, he did well. Then he got full of himself. He squandered his God-given gifts and forgot his responsibility to the people and God. We need to avoid Pride. Greed. Thinking we can do it without God.

Becoming complacent, and full of ourselves, living lavishly off the back of people in need.
