Saul reminds us that title is not enough to make on a leader. Solomon teaches us that wisdom is doomed to fail without submission to God.

They both disobeyed God and allowed the position of power Saul with his anger and Solomon with his wealth and wives. The spiritual hazard of arrogance and power is a warning to us all. Leadership is best with service and humility.

Not following the wisdom of God and instead allowing our selfish nature and the influence of others direct our paths.

In Saul, envy and jealousy.
In Solomon, selfishness. Materialistic. Separation from God.
