We should avoid hazards such as alcohol and substance abuse that contribute to us losing control of our minds, so that we can think clearly and carry out God’s work.

Spiritual hazards to avoid includes; reliance on self-competence, the intuitive appeal of sinful lifestyles, abject lack of godly fear, irreverence of Jehovah, women and sex, etc.

Most certainly should avoid idol worship and avoid being swayed by the things and people of this world. Also PRIDE!

They were both self-centered unlike David who, for the most point lived a God-centered life! We need to stay focused on God as well.
