In briefly considering Saul and Solomon, what spiritual hazards should we avoid?

Saul and Solomon have both one thing in common. They both have failed God. Saul wasn’t obedient enough when God gave instructions to destroy Amalekites.
Solomon loved sin too much. He had numerous women who worshipped false gods and used idolatry. He should not have surrounded himself with this sin -
When looking at both Saul and Solomon, we need to aware of our pride. We need to always have our eyes focused on guide with our hand out asking for guidance instead of looking inward at what we are capable of accomplishing. We also need to be aware of our surroundings and having people around us that have God as their focus that we can have as counsel. We need to surround ourselves with like minded people and put off people that are earthly or world focused because they would only pull us in that direction.

Saul: one can learn to be obedient to God, that we all have our time and place for everything or season. must never envy others
Solomon: i think self pride, because he had good intentions, but God does say no and we must listen, cause he knows best. -
The main spiritual hazard I see here is complacency. Saul and Solomon had positions were they could have used them to glorify God and be blessed but instead abused their authority, decided to take the sinful route, lead people astray, and take joy and pleasure in their sin instead.

It is dangerous to be intoxicated with our own abilities, ideas, or position. All of these things become entanglements without God’s guidance and welcomed involvemenrt.
