The same reason that true love for your wife means you will listen to what her desires are whether its helping with household chores or something else. Same with our relationship with God.

Jesus is the ultimate example of following the 10 commandments correctly. He constantly went to the Father, prayed and lived His life in obedience to God. When we seek God and live like Jesus we will see what we were truly created to do…worship and glorify God. Unfortunately, we will not do this perfectly, but we also know that through Jesus we can come to the father with our sin and repent.

Our beliefs and actions go hand in hand. I am reminded of I John 5:3.

It shows our belief is real by living the Christian life, a life submitted to the teachings of Christ testifies to a true changed life bearing fruit for the glory of God.

We as Christians are designed to be living reflections of God. We are to be His hands, feet, and mouthpieces here on earth. Therefore, we must live the way that Christ taught us to live. We are to follow His example. “He must increase, but I must decrease (John 3.30)”. If we do not, then how are we to know that we are truly in Christ, and much less the rest of the world? “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me (Matthew 16:24).” We must also “choose this day (and every day) whom we will serve”.
