To understand a prophet’s message, we must understand the prophet’s audience cultural context. The theme of a prophet’s message grew out of their culture. When they saw something that concerned them happening to a people, they went to God and God gave them a message to guide those people through that situation.

to understand the message a prophetic book is I must what era it is i.e. kingdom era or the settlement era and I need to know what’s going on in that particular era.
