Illumination helps us with the clarification of the scriptures. So, I believe this would be the greatest influence as we interpret a Bible passage. It is important to be clear of who’s talking to whom, and what message is being interpreted with the scripture. It would only hinder us if we don’t go through the proper procedures while determining the correct meaning of each scripture.

Illumination. I am very conscious of the fact that as a human I am capable of making mistakes. I rely heavily on the Holy Spirit to ensure I’m not misled. Or if I am, that I am corrected quickly. Especially because I shepherd others.

Humility has the greatest impact on me because, it permits God to help me as I try to understand a passage and I don’t stand in the way with my presupposed ideas. Sometimes it hinders me, because I sometimes don’t trust my abilities for interpretation, and it probably more times than not, slows me down. I know God has given us abilities and I must use them, and trust God for the passages that are difficult to interpret.

Wow, what a learning experience for this lesson! Humility, is a key point that I MUST constantly exhibit while going through the scriptures of the Bible with the Holy Spirit.
