In the book of Numbers, we learn that the Israelites wandered aimlessly in the wilderness for a generation. Why?

Deleted User11/17/2021 at 13:58They wandered in the wilderness for 40 years because when they sent 12 spies into the promised 10 of them came back with bad report. They reported of giants in the land of Canaan. The people were afraid of the giants and prayed to God not to make them enter. God granted their request by having them wander until the current generation had all passed away

Deleted User10/29/2021 at 13:32They feared the giants in Canaan more than they trusted God and so they rebelled against God and refused to lay claim and fight for the land that God had promised them. To cleanse Israel of those that refused to trust in him and rebelled against Him Israel was forced to wander in the desert for 40 years until that whole generation, except for Caleb and Joshua, died.

Deleted User10/26/2021 at 22:02Israel feared the “giants” of the PromisedLand more than they Trusted God. Therefore a whole generation of fearful non-trusting Israelites had to die before the nation could move forward.
