Deleted User10/21/2021 at 13:41The Israelites wandered aimlessly in the wilderness for a generation because they did not trust God. They feared the people of Canaan more than they trusted God. They listened to the 10 spies that said they could not conquer the land instead of listening to Joshua and Caleb who were trying to reassure them they God would lead them to victory. Because of this doubt and disobedience, they wandered aimlessly until a new generation was built up and ready to conquer the land promised to them.

Deleted User10/07/2021 at 14:44The Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years because they lacked faith in God. Despite God leading them out of an oppressed nation (Egypt) and opening up the Red Sea for them to escape the Egyptian army, they still doubted God and His promises. The Israelites did not believe that they could conquer the current inhabitants of the promise land, which made God angry because they once again did not trust His plan. As a result of their unbelief and disobedience , God had the Israelites wander in the wilderness for a generation.
