The Israelites wandered in the wilderness because they feared the giants in the Promised land and refused to believe that God can help them. They rebelled against God’s will, so as a punishment for their rebellion, God said they will die in the wilderness and their offspring will be the ones going into the promised land.

They believed the negative report of the 10 spies and didn’t want to enter the land. They refused to obey God and were not trusting HIm. For their disobedience, they wandered in the wilderness for 40 years until that generation died.

Because they rejected God’s plan for them to take the promised land and asked God to not make them enter the land.

Because they listened to 10 Canaanite spies they them that they could not win the battle and enter into the land that GOD promised them instead of listening to Moses, Aaron, Joshua and Caleb.
