In the section “Settlement: Seeing God,” what truth about God impressed you the most? Why?

I think the most amazing truth about God is how consistently He proves His love for us. He never gives up on us even though throughout the Old Testament (and time and time again today) mankind built up a more than condemning case against themselves and instead of hitting the reset button or wiping us off the face of the earth God chose to give Himself as a sacrifice to pay our sin debt.

The thing about God that sticks with me is that he does not forsake his people even when they sin or fail to do as He commands. He finds a way for his promise to come through.

He is a promise keeping God. He will never leave us nor forsake us. He is a personal God to us mankind and He is also powerful and mighty. What he promises he will fulfill. He spelt them clearly and his timing of fulfillment is perfect and will not dictate by man’s demand. We can know God personally as He longs to reveal himself to us.

The truth about God that impressed me the most was that God is with those who move forward with him as shown through his dealings with Joshua and the Israelites and their conquest of the promised land. It helps remind me that God is present with me even in the difficult circumstances of my life. He is with me even when I do not feel him.

The truth that He is ALL- powerful. He can turn obstacles into safe pathways – even when there seems to be no way. I have tendency to forget just how powerful He is – especially in my own life when I can’t see a way…I can remember that He can make one – He can literally do ANYthing. He can control nature and He can soften hearts. He can right my wrongs. He is still the God of miracles that we see in the Old Testament!
