Macro – big picture.
Micro – the particulars that contribute to the big picture or that are interpreted successfully, only in light of the big picture. -
[In the “Six Rules for Interpreting Prophecy,” what stood out to you? Why?] I can find nothing in the lecture transcript about rules for interpreting prophecy. The only statements I could find about prophecy are: “Prophetic – These books are a combination of narrative stories and proclamations. Most prophetic books include poetic sections as well. The key to reading these prophetic books is to observe when the writer is describing historical facts and when he switches to recording a prophet’s sermons.”
I found, online, J. Vernon McGee’s Six Rules — with no explanations. They are:
1. Interpret in context.
2. Interpret literally.
3. Be careful with symbols.
4. Look for immediate fulfillment.
5. Be consistent.
6. Don’t go too far.I don’t find any of these very helpful. Perhaps, if he would further explain, I might.

[In the “Six Rules for Interpreting Prophecy,” what stood out to you? Why?] The different ways that God gives us information about the future, like through numbers, which I find really interesting because I always believed that numbers can mean something other than just being numbers.
