In times of trial or feeling like giving up on our hope in Jesus, what helps me is having people around me that can remind me of God’s goodness and that can hold me accountable. Satan’s lie that we are alone in our struggle is one of the biggest lies and oldest strategies. Having Christian friends and family to remind me of the Truth helps strengthen me in my daily walk with Christ.

Wise Christian leaders and pastors have often said something along the lines of, “When you feel like you’ve lost your faith, keep trusting until you get it back.” This is not to say you can lose your salvation, but that all of us go through periods of doubt, depression, trials, and times we lack faith. We wonder where God is or what His plan is. We get discouraged when it seems He isn’t there. It has helped me to follow the above advice. I keep trusting even when I feel like I don’t believe. I read the Bible and pray. I wait for God to lead. When we feel weak, we have to trust that He, who created us and loves us, is strong. He is at our right hand and He will sustain us.

I’ve never been tempted to give up my faith, but it can be hard to always choose the right thing to do.
