    What helped me is the realization that I cannot go back to a life of emptiness and darkness, which was how it was as an unbeliever. I cannot live in the dark. Jesus is the Light of my life and without Him it will be hopeless.

    No. I have never been tempted to give up my faith in Christ. Even as a young believer, it was the only predictable constant in my life. It was a dependable rock to me. I realized very early on that I had nobody and nothing on which I could truly rely on 100% but the Lord. Don’t get me wrong, there were a few people there for me when I needed them, but God was “a constant friend that stuck closer than any brother (Proverbs 18:24)”. Christ was there no matter what, through thick and thin. I knew that I could fully rely on Him. So, I was never tempted to abandon my faith.

    I don’t feel that I have ever been tempted to give up my faith in Christ, but there have been various times over the years where I have felt that I was not serving Christ to the fullest. As a young person we tend to create a map of where we think our lives will go and what we will do. We choose a field of study in university, if blessed we find a life partner, then we plan for children etc…. I say this to share that my faith over time has been sustained because I can look back over the years and see God’s unfailing faithfulness. God has guided and directed each and every step of my life to where I am today. Trusting and waiting for God’s direction has strengthened my faith. Even when I could not see His hand at work at the time, I know that He has been with me and He will continue to be with me. This evidence and trust is what sustains my faith.

    There have been many times that i have not been walking the way God intended me to walk but i was sustained in my faith by my foundation of who christ was and is. How He has affected my life in many ways. I have a big testimony of God’s grace, redemption and love I have experienced

    Yes, when extreme situations that are very trying and you just want to throw in the towel. But the Holy Spirit reminds me things happen for reasons far beyond our understanding, and I work to give thanks instead of being negative.
