In addition to the ideas identified by George, the following alternative ways should be considered:

    a) The families can be invited to attend the Alpha course. We are conducting Alph courses every now and then. The Alpha Course is an effective form of evangelism when run by and through the local church. It focuses on the fundamentals of Christianity and provides the opportunity to engage in discussions and be transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

    b) Invite them to attend Easter and Christmas gatherings to let them fellowship with believers.

The presence, at all times, whether good or not. And always be available to serve.

Last year, we gave our WNBA team and staff the book “The Emotionally Healthy Woman”, we also gave copies to the parents who wanted to learn more about what their daughter was reading.

I always gave treats (slices of home-made pound cake)and/ or gifts to family members.

I have weekly bible study with a player she is free to invite whoever she would like to. On occasion a close friend was visiting and I had bible study with both of them.

As I stated in my last answer… trauma response is critical in sport ministry that I serve. It has opened so many doors for friendships, caring, discipleship etc. When the athlete sees how much you care for them in the “low” moments it opens so many doors for deep relationships.
