The parable of the Good Samaritan which taught not just to care for others, but also not to judge by appearances. A man from a background that was DESPISED by the Jewish leaders, provided more compassion than those who thought themselves righteous. The miracle of calming a storm at sea (Jesus was asleep in the boat) proved that He had power over creation, and that we could trust what He said.

Jesus performed a miracle when he fed the 5000. After this, it is recorded that Jesus is the Bread of Life. This communicates the truth that Jesus can satisfy our deepest “hungers.”
In the parable of the prodigal son, Jesus communicates the truth that God stops at nothing to restore us. We can put ourselves in the shoes of the prodigal son and see that God will welcome us back with open arms and forgive our sins.
