Each person would be doing right in their own eyes. There would be no clear why to know truth and we would continue in our sin.

I think it will be a defeated, confusing and empty life – not much different from being an unbeliever.

All believers require spiritual instruction. The Bible provides us with that needed instruction. Without it Christians would flounder. We would lack the necessary blueprint for living a righteous life. We would be lost as to how to fully embrace and live out our spiritual destiny.

In the Acts of the Apostles we see the start of the church, where the disciples were baptised in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit was the helper that Jesus promised He would send to help us. Without that help we are not able to learn and live the Christian life. We can not share the Gospel the ‘good news’ without the Holy Spirit who goes before us after prayer softening the hearts of those we witness to and preparing the heart like preparing the ‘good soil’ in readiness to accept the seed of the Gospel which we are sowing.

We must get direction in many ways, but the infallible way is through the word. Our own free will would take over when we decide between good and evil, and not do what was pleasing to the Lord.
