I would be totally lost. I see the Bible as my instruction book. Sort of like an owners manual except I don’t own me. There is a song which is my favorite and was the favorite of my wonderful Pastor who is now in heaven and it says “if it wasn’t for The Lighthouse, Where would this ship be?”

We would make our own hearts the judge of right and wrong. We couldn’t accurately and regularly discern Gods will for our lives without his written word. People tend to drift and misremember or forget the goodness of God. we ae always seeking something. We all have a Jesus shaped whole in our hearts.

The whole purpose of spiritual instruction is to guide us through explanation and instruction to live the abundant life in order to achieve eternal life. Life would not really exist as true Christian life without instruction.

I think if we didn’t have a model or the words of the Bible to live by, it would be how each interprets what they should do. Again, if humans are left to their own devices, it never comes out good.

Without God’s instructions, we would be left to our own sinful and selfish ways of living. We would not be effective in accomplishing God’s mission to spread the gospel.
