although I am familiar with the New Testament, and the gospels, I am always amazed every time I read the scriptures how little I know, yet how far i have come and do know.

I love learning that the Old Testament is fulfilled in Jesus Christ, the embodyment of the New Testament. I do enjoy reading the commentaries that come with these lessons because they always deepen my understanding of the content of the books of the bible, even though I have read them all my life.

I am quite familiar with the gospels. In the letters of Paul I am fairly familiar with their content and often need the reminder of how God wants me to live. Hebrews through Jude are less familiar to me, but today’s lesson encourages me to look at them again through the lens of the theme of faith.

Each time I read the New Testament I am reminded of the love of God and in awe of how he shows me more deeply his plan and character.

No matter how well I think I know it, every time I study, I learn something new.
