My school has before school care and after school care. Our “spirit wear” store is located on site. We have uniform swaps during the school year. The upper grades have information nights where parents learn about expectations for the next grade level, choosing courses, college admissions, college financial aid, etc. Parents are invited to “coffee events” during school hours for fellowship. Parents appreciate convenience and the availablity of information.

We support our parents daily. We allow our parents to walk our younger students into their classrooms each morning. Parents are allowed to volunteer in our classrooms and join their students for lunch. One of the most important things that we do is invite parents to join us for Chapel on Fridays. This allows the parents to worship with their each week! I think all these things are beneficial because it helps build our school community.

Our school has a coffee shop on campus and a great place for parents, students, and teachers to meet and visit. We also have volunteering options for parents to sign up. The benefits of these areas are the parents become more active and aware of what is going on at the school.

We offer learning support teachers and we give them contacts if needed for student evaluation. We allow parents to leave their students at school a bit longer if they need a bit of extra time picking up their kids. We arrange free and paid after school activities so parents can have extra time to pick up their children if they need it. We hold parent teacher conferences after school during hours parents could make it even if they work and teachers will help out parents who really need another meeting time. We have times after school to meet if a parent needs an extra meeting. We ask parents how we can help if we feel something is going on that is a special circumstance.

My grade level sends out a weekly newsletter so that parents are aware of all school events, homework, tests, etc. This is working very well. My school is blessed with tons of parent volunteers. My school does a great job partnering with parents.
