My school requires the teachers to make at least two personal contacts through messaging or in person per month with each students’ parent about their progress or any concerns. In my classroom I encourage the parents to come in and volunteer within the classroom and see what their child is learning. Parents and students of parents who have done this are more motivated and responsive to my suggestions.

I offer open comunication and offers of prayer when requested. The school provide counseling to the families with our school pastor.

We have Back to School Night and frequent conferences with parents. We offer after-school study halls. Conferences allow teachers to personally connect with parents to talk about their children.

Teachers keep parents informed. They too have busy schedules and when communication isn’t fluent, walls can be built. Letting parents know what is being taught, and how their child is doing, and encouraging them can help keep communication lines open.

We have coffe with principal time where parents can go and ask the pricipal any questions about the school. We also send out weekly newsletters so parents are aware of what is going on. the parents help with many events at the school includinf fied trips and also subbing. i
