Our school has a lot of parental involvement. We meet with parents after the first quarter or the school year to discuss their child’s progress so far. We keep communication open with parents throughout the year. Whenever speaking to parents I try to give them an encouraging word about their child.

Our school offers early dropoff and late pickup for students. We also offer a school-parent fellowship that allows parents who want to be more involved in the school to do just that. I think the benefit is that parents become more understanding of situations that may arise and more open to listen when there are tough discussions that have to occur.

My former school supported parents by inviting them to the classrooms for activities, field trips, or other special occasions. We communicated to parents at least once a week via email and utilized the car line each day to build and nurture those relationships. These practical ways strengthened the effectiveness of our ministry to their children. They enabled us to truly support the parents in the discipleship of their children.

My school currently supports families by offering multiple volunteer opportunities. Many parents have the opportunity to help teachers clean their classrooms, read books, do crafts, come to each lunch with their children many times a year, come to their special events and presentations. Parents are also able to fill surveys to see how we can serve and help them more in many aspects. We constantly communicate with parents and have a meeting with them when they want to.

The ways our school currently supports parents is by partnering with them from the moment they enroll their students. Our school handles every situtation as a team with the parent to do what will benefit the school and students. We hold weekly Chapel services for all the students where parents are welcome to join and can discuss the lessons with their child at home. Our school also has tutoring for struggling students during school hours that are offered if the parent sees that their child needs it. There are also many other activities where the parents are constantly welcome into our school campus to volunteer or enjoy.
