We have specified email times for parents to contact us. We also communicate regularly and frequently.

I answer their emails in less than 24 hours and follow up with them.
I have extra tutoring lessons before and after school and if they told me that they want their kid to stay, I email them to let them know if they haven’t stayed for them. The school offers scholarships, they have a daily email with all the events happening at the school and an account of excessive tardies or absences.
Our system automatically emails parents when students do not turn in work. -
Covid restrictions has put a damper on our parent activities. We should look for better ways to support our parents.

There is a parents association which arrange regular meetings with the teachers of a particular grade level where they exchange and convey ideas, concerns and feedback over students matters to teachers and vice versa. When this is done not to criticize or judge, both parents and teachers are benefitted from this. They can work together to help the students become better individuals.

During conferences with parents, they will often ask me to do certain things to guide and support their child. For instance, one of my moms has asked me to remind their son to write down important dates in his schedule and to check his grades each Friday in an effort to make him more self-disciplined. It has made him a more successful student in the past month that we have been working on this. During this age of virtual education, we have had a night where the parents come up for training in Google Classroom and the grading software we use as a school. We also have after school care for those parents who are not able to pick their child up right after school. It is my hope that we as a school can continue to grow with our parents in order to better serve our children.
