In what ways do you feel you currently nurture your students? How have you seen this impact them?

I think my students know that I care. I nurture them by taking a genuine interest in their lives, as well as seeing them reach their potential.

I believe that my students see that I am in for the long hall and that I care to help them through the most difficult moments. I have had the child with the worst behavior improve throughout the year and then tell me that they see how much I care.

I make it a point to celebrate victories with my students and to make them feel like anything they tell me is important. While I still have some ways to improve in these areas, I have seen students get excited to share news with me and feel safe enough to come speak with me when needed.

We have moments where we pause in our learning and have a little prayer and worship time.

Every now and again we will toss the learning aside to talk about anything they like. Usually, it is around something school-related but more often than not, around life stuff. It lets them know that I care about their lives and encourages them to give each other ideas and other points of view.
