During course I give positive feedback to students. I encourage all students to ask any question. I encourage the struggling learners to participate in course. I listen to my students and pray for them.

I let them express themselves with those skills and gifts and encourage them to keep developing these special characteristics to glorify God.

Conversations and course co-created stories incorporate and reflect their interests, imaginings, activities, etc. When we discuss the calendar, we always include conversation around what is going on in their lives. We celebrate student birthdays in course, allowing them to be the guest of honor at a conversational Q&A event where they are given the opportunity to share about their families, their favorite things, any extra-curricular activities, etc. All of this takes place in the target language. I also take time during the year to let individual students know when/how they have positively impacted me as a teacher.
