Jesus Christ allows me to share grace and truth to future generations. He serves a a model, a teacher, a father and a friend to the students in my classroom.

My belief in Jesus and the Word of God should affect everything I do in my classroom. I’m not there YET, but that is what I want my teaching to be. It affects how I plan lessons, what materials I chose, how I organize my day, what actives I have my students do, how I interact with students/parents/colleagues, my emotional state, etc. I know I can’t do this on my own, but I need the power of the Holy Spirit every day!

The primary way my belief in Jesus Christ currently influences my classroom is my passion for teaching each student. Because Jesus died for me on the cross and rose again from the grave, I want to lead every student to Him for salvation and sanctification. He is the only Lord, Savior, and Treasure of all. Therefore, in every subject matter, classroom interaction, and conversation, I want to glorify Christ and make Him known to each student.

My belief in Jesus influences the way I look at my students as more than children who can have frustrating childish behaviors. They are potential brothers and sisters in Christ. It helps me have more patience to look at them and imagine the man or woman of God that they can grow up to be.

My actions and words model what Jesus has taught me from the Bible.
