It influences my actions, interactions with students and colleagues, how I teach, what I teach, etc. Believing that Jesus is our one and only Savior, Son of God, and much, much more, I ask Him to guide me and be with me throughout everything I do. I want to be a light for my students and for them to see Christ through me, so that ultimately they become/continue to be lights for others.

My Christology influences my classroom and one example is that because I see Jesus as a facilitator and someone who initiates reflection, like when he sent out the seventy-two or when he prompted a discussion about the fig tree, I try to imitate that in my classroom.

My belief guides my decisions, responses, planning, view of each student, and overall role as an educator and channel of God’s Word.

Believing that Jesus is Lord leads me to pray every day for His eyes when I see my students. I pray for His words to flow from me rather than my own. I pray that my heart breaks for what breaks His. I do not know of any way to allow Him power and authority over my instructional practices and influence in my students’ lives.

Due to my belief in Jesus Christ, I am able to share Christ with my students on a daily basis in my classroom. This has helped my students to walk with the Lord each day purposefully.
