It helps me to navigate behaviors, help students see themselves as Christ’s wonderful creation, helps me to navigate teaching science to the middle grades, and give me the Holy Spirit to guide me.

I teach science and we use the Bible almost daily in my classroom. We use the Bible to refute evolution and dispute abortion. My beliefs strongly influence the way I teach because I want the students to understand that the Bible is applicable to every area of learning and their lives.

My belief in Jesus influences my classroom because it influences how I communicate with people, treat people, and I’m able to share about Jesus to my students.

His example for living, while his was flawless, ours is flawed. Jesus gave us numerous examples of individuals who were just like ourselves. He showed kindness, compassion, love and pointed people toward the truth and light. Talking about the 10 Commandments or Fruit of the Spirit isn’t just rote recitation. These are provided to us to teach us how to live, pray, turn toward God, fight against the spiritual forces that rise up against us. Preparing students for the many elements that will challenge their faith, we have to refer back to Jesus who himself was challenged by Satan and defeated Him with the Word of God. All of this has to be presented, taught, lived, and exemplified in all we set out to impart to our students.

Taking my belief in Jesus is transformed by finding God Jesus in all we do and study.
