It influences my why for being there. I am a servant of the LORD. I am inclined to His voice to do His bidding in every aspect of my work.

I believe in forgiveness and redemption. I believe that everyone is created in the image of God. This allows my classroom to feel welcoming and a place where we process difficult emotions and ask for forgiveness.

I would not be teaching at all if not for my belief in Christ. Serving the Lord is what took me to college. Teaching in a school which was filled with Christians who reached out to children in the community influenced me to go to seminary. And then, I headed to a Christian School to teach again. Students are very aware of the heart of a teacher toward Jesus and the gospel, and they respond well when they see the faith of a teacher working day to day.

I lean on God everyday for each lesson that I teach. I encourage the students to lean on God to learn new things since he is the one who created us. The theme of “leaning on God” is in my classroom.

My belief in Jesus Christ directly influences how I interact and mentor my students.
