I didn’t choose this course alone but it is part of the program for “ Foundations for Biblical Ministry.” I enjoy reading the Bible and I am looking forward to learn to study it better. It is essential not only to know God but to live the Christian life. Reading is one thing but being able to connect all the pieces together requires a methodological approach.

I want to love reading His word again, to take delight in hours of studying it. I want to be an effective and Biblically-correct speaker. I want to know Him better and love Him with my all.

I believe this will be a good foundational piece for my Bible study going forward. I have been saved for a long time and I am a ravenous learner. I am currently in pursuit of ODBU’s Foundations of Biblical Ministry certificate and this course is required for it but I would have taken this class anyway. I have challenged myself to take all of the classes offered here and figured that I would start with the Basic level courses. I am called into the Evangelistic field and wish to sharpen my skills and hone my calling, to be the best that I can be for the Lord. A good foundation is essential. Any platform must be built upon the rock of Ages if it is to stand the test of time and be effective. The better that I know and study the Bible then the better that I can reach the lost for Christ.

I want to learn to live by God’s teachings, learn to know God better. learn more about biblical history, contribute more to a Bible study group I participate in, and more effectively share your faith with skeptics or unbelievers. I selected these reasons because they reflect the tools I believe are necessary for growing in my faith at this moment. The overall goal for wanting to study the Bible is for growth in my walk with Christ.

To be honest, I am taking the course as part of the Foundations for Biblical Ministry certificate. That said, I am looking forward to rekindling the love for being in the Word and studying it more in-depth. I am anticipating that this course will help me study the Bible better, see new insights, and grow in my relationship with the Lord.
