In what ways have you seen hypocrisy in the church negatively impact the church’s witness to the world? What do you feel is the best way to eliminate hypocrisy in the church?

Gossiping, cheating, and boasting about wealth are the three that I have seen negatively impact the church’s witness to the world. I don’t have the answer to determine what is the best way to eliminate hypocrisy but it Is a matter admitting the negative impacts.

I have seen people who are Christians or claim to be Christians be unkind to others. Being unkind to unbelievers (and fellow believers) hurts others and ultimately the body of Christ.

I was very disappointed when the church elders refused to assist an outsider who reached out to our church for help with moving. That ultimately led me to leave the church and join another one.

The way we are known not by who and what we love, but who and what we excluded.
