People see hypocrisy in the way the church loves others outside of the church, we need to hold each other accountable to the standard the Lord has laid before us!

Hypocrisy has impacted the church in a negative way because we as Christians fail to show the light or shine our light into the lives of others. Certain circumstances and how we react in them shows others if our witness is true. Many churches also fail to preach and teach against sin, allowing fornication and adultery and deceitfulness. Those seeking a deeper relationship with God will wonder how it is that people who say they love God fail to obey Him? The best way to eliminate hypocrisy is to teach God’s word and remind Christians of the consequences for being disobedient.

I have been hurt by people who have judged my life as “less than Christian” in some areas while ignoring the plank in their own eyes…. We as Christians need to remember who we represent when we come down with judgment against others for having a different worship style or where we attend church. Our goal is never to scare others away from church or loving Christ.

One of the biggest reasons people leave church is because of the hypocrisy in it. Many may not like the message, but when they are faced with the hypocrisy of the congregation they are likely unable to avoid coming to a few conclusions. Either, the faith these people believe is not real because it doesn’t change them, or the faith they hold is not worth believing in. The best way to eliminate hypocrisy is for everyone to get in the Word, study it, allow it to transform their own lives, and be humble. Praying for eyes to see who we really are makes hypocrisy a lot harder.
