Is mentorship something you’ve considered as part of your role as a Christian educator? Why or why not?

Yes, I mentor a young man Tanzania. He is a tenth grade students but on a 3rd grade level. I am very intentional about spending time with him outside of academics.

I haven’t really consciously thought about it, but my words and actions help mentor my students. I do want to implement more discipleship into our schooling.

I think investing in students is one of my main goals in teaching. That includes disciplining them.

I believe that as educators we automatically fall into the mentorship category. Mentoring is time consuming, though. In my case, with a husband, and four children of my own, it becomes a challenge. I am always open to helping and directing my students in any way I can.
