Yes, I have considered it. Our school makes a concerted effort in this area by having the students separated in discipleship groups with teacher mentors. I have yet to have my own group because I teach part-time. But it may be something I can join in the future.

Yes, mentorship is certainly a part of my role as a Christian educator. Students may be with us for a year or so, but it is vital that we disciple them in a manner that exceeds their short time in our classrooms so that they can be the hands and feet of Jesus far beyond their years with us.

Yes, it is something I’ve considered as a part of my role. My role is to help shape the next disciples, and mentoring is a part of that. Even after students have left my classroom, I want to always be there for them to support, encourage, love and assist them to the best of my ability.

Yes, I do feel that my role as an educator include being a mentor. My students, parents, a few co-workers, and cheerleaders look up to me. My job is to pour into, help, give, and teach someone along the way.

I do believe it is a part of our role. Students and families seek support in many way and mentorship is a way we can support them.
