Is mentorship something you’ve considered as part of your role as a Christian educator? Why or why not?

That is not something that I have felt comfortable with yet, but have had a mentor myself and it was extremely helpful! I learned a lot from her and I hope to be able to be one in the future.

Mentorship has somewhat been a part of my teaching career. I had a student who I taught over 15 years ago and we reconnected. She informed me that one of the reasons why she went into teaching was because of me. She also wanted me to remind her of some math strategies I used.

I’ve considered mentoring and hope that it happens as my students move from middle school through high school. I have not been intentional about it, something for me to consider.

Yes, very much so. We are to be the hands and feet of Jesus. It is so important to walk the walk and not just talk when we are dealing with young impressionable minds. Even the youngest is watching what we do and how we treat others and whether we put ourself first or look out for others first.

Yes, I have always felt that mentoring and discipling are very similar. As teachers, we are meant to be pouring into students and sometimes we pour into some students more than others and mentor them.
