I think we strive to be, but we can always work on improving in that area.

Yes, my school is a place of redemption. Students are held accountable for their actions, but mistakes are used as “teachable moments” to lead the students back to God.

Yes, our school is a place of redemption. We teach from a biblical worldview and offer lots of grace. We know that none of us are perfect. Our staff is very compassionate toward each other, students, and parents.

I believe so yes. I am relatively new to my school but feel there is a definite atmosphere of redemption. Students are treated with compassion by most staff and faculty. I am certain there are times when this is not the case but, we too should be forgiven for those moments. I think what is most important is that we take responsibility when we make mistakes, just as we ask students to.

Many teachers lose sight of their calling to present the gospel of redemption in their actions and not just their words. They focus on academic achievements, an orderly classroom, administrative support or even employment benefits. When students enthusiastically respond to teachers who care for their whole person, including their spiritual health, other teachers can become jealous and want to discourage those positive relationships. The administration that prioritizes an atmosphere of redemption must recognize this conflict and encourage all teachers to be God’s instruments of His redemption inside and outside the classroom.
