Yes, the school I am teaching at is a place of redemption. God’s word is at the very heart of the school where there is an understanding that we have all been redeemed through Christ’s sacrifice. A price was paid for us that we didn’t deserve but the price was paid anyway because God loves us this much.

Yes, all discipline is seeking to be restorative and not punitive. It is important that students not only know this but sense it and feel it when they are being disciplined.

Yes, I believe my school is a “place of redemption.” When students make decisions that go against the Lord, we have a consistent behavior plan that partners with students and parents to lead the child into repentance. Our disciplinary actions of firm, yet full of grace.

I don’t currently have a school placement. However, the school I previously worked in was a place of permissiveness, not redemption. In the world, the counterfeit for God’s love and redemptive work is permissiveness.
