Yes, I believe my school is a “place of redemption.” When students make decisions that go against the Lord, we have a consistent behavior plan that partners with students and parents to lead the child into repentance. Our disciplinary actions of firm, yet full of grace.

I don’t currently have a school placement. However, the school I previously worked in was a place of permissiveness, not redemption. In the world, the counterfeit for God’s love and redemptive work is permissiveness.

I am not currently teaching. But in my previous school, I think the answer depends on which classroom you might be standing in. Teachers have different attitudes toward kids and rules and breaking rules. On the whole, forgiveness is readily offered when a student feels guilty enough. The administration is understanding and on board with giving lots of chances without shaming. But really, if a child is doing things that reflect badly on the school, there is not much sorrow if the child moves to a different school.

Yes, I thinks so. They apply restorative discipline to teach students about the mercy of God.
