Is your school a “place of redemption”? Explain.

I pray that my school is a “place of redemption” – that students and staff alike have and continue to experience the forgiveness and love of Christ and then pass it on to others. It is such a broken, hurting world. We so desperately need this redemption to live and have hope. We must make sure we are truly connected to Jesus Christ daily, hourly, minute-by-minute to be able to show His redemptive power and love to others.

Yes, it is. We are fortunate that the administration, faculty, and staff are there for the purpose of redemption.

Yes, I believe my school is a place of redemption. On rare occasions do we have to send students to the principal, and even when we do she lovingly, yet firmly, handles them in a way that I admire and learn from. We also hold students accountable and deliver appropriate consequences when necessary. We all want to build our students up and help them grow in all the ways we can, and we understand that doing so requires the work of the Holy Spirit in our hearts.

I feel that our school gives students many chances. Sometimes students are even given too many chances. Students aren’t shamed or ridiculed when they make mistakes but are corrected in a way that gives them dignity.

It is, in a lot of ways. But there are still some punitive measure I think. We aren’t all on the same page in terms of discipline or assessment but I think there are enough teachers who have a relationship with students that it is more redemptive in heart, though the practices need to follow.
