While it is true that I enjoy reading my Bible, I do read some parts more than others. I thoroughly enjoy reading the poetry of the Bible as well as the fascinating narrative stories and always enlightening parables. I learn a great deal from the epistles and the prophetic texts. I really do not have a favorite genre per-se. Although I have the hardest time with the historical narratives. There is so much excellent knowledge to be gained from reading any part of the Word of God. I am a writer and poet myself, so if I had to choose a style I am most inspired by it would be the beautiful poetry of the Bible.

I do not fare well with the prophetic genres, the narrative genres work well for me, I like reading parables, but the apocalypse is as hard to decipher as the prophetic genres. My favorite is the epistles, although my favor book is Ecclesiastes.

I read the letters the most and prophetic the least. I like narratives because it gives a story of the events that I am reading about.

Apocalyptic is read the least. I enjoy narrative and parable the most.

Of the six genres, I think I read more Epistles than anything, but I don’t think I read much Apocalyptic writing.
