I tend to offer character affirmations too early and I don’t tend to ask good questions.
The former because I feel sad for my client and the latter because I feel weak about asking the best level of intrusive inquiry. -
I probably offer support the most often. I think I do this because I want the person to feel good, and maybe they will share more with me.
I don’t think reflectively enough. I’m not too fond of silence, so I typically keep talking.

The basic “Don’ts” I most often do is back away. I do this because I do not feel confident to help them . I believe that I often do the basic do’s-listen closely and expectantly, ask questions and think reflectively. I need to do these things more consistently and not jump ahead.

I think I may sometimes offer trivialized care to someone, rather than seeking a fuller vision for their lives, I merely try to show them they are valuable in shallower ways. I probably do this because I am too quick to try and care, and need to refect and take more time to listen. I definitely need to be thinking reflectively more when someone shares, as I in my own life find more information and connected points when I stop and reflect. I think this is for the same reason as the other, I’m too impatient.

Most often, I advise, or I use too. LOL! And as Pastor, I always offer support. Prayers, hugs, those sorts of things. And of the do’s, I thought I listened closely but I really didn’t. Many lessons learned here.
