It may be difficult but we can and should remind our students, staff, friends and neighbors that there is no such thing as your truth and my truth. Truth is real and should be proclaimed. Also, we must remember to be salt and light.

The prevailing life view of my students seems to be “what I believe is the only thing that matters and if you don’t agree with it then you are wrong.” My greatest concern is what I hear coming from their mouths is what their parents espouse at home. The only way to respond to this is with what God says, but in a loving manner that doesn’t come across as authoritative and with no room for discussion. At some point, God’s Word has got to become their own words too.

The word of God will never depart from their heart if it’s constantly shared. Be a good listener and show that you care and you can stand in the gap concerning their spiritual needs. These students come to school with all personal problems affecting their learning. The need to break the fallow ground, strengthen them with the truth from the scripture, and teach them how to search the scriptures as they pray daily will help them overcome.
